Did You Know? Lions are the only true social cats, living in prides that are based on a matriarchal social structure with females forming close, usually life-long bonds. Females within a pride will nurse each other's cubs, known as allo-suckling. Males do not help raising the baby lions and play no role in providing food for them. Training to hunt is also the responsibility of the mother.
