Although elephants will drink and bathe daily by choice, they can go for several days without water, allowing them to range up to 80 km from the source of water.

An adult bull elephant bull may drink up to 100 liters at a time, and more than 200 liters in a day. Elephants used their trunks to suck up the water, before squirting it into the mouth.
