Guest Gallery is on the Way

I've never been to Kenya, Uganda, or Tanzania, so have not seen any of the above animals, never mind photographing them. And that means readers are limited to seeing only those pictures that I've been able to take.

The good news - that could all soon change. But only with YOUR help. The company that hosts this site (Site Build It!) is putting the final touches to some complex back-end programming that will allow me to set up a "Guest Gallery" to which readers can submit their own photographs, plus information about where and how the pictures were taken.

Once the contributor's picture appears on the site, it will be possible to let other readers comment on, and rate, the picture.

Naturally, to eliminate spam and to ensure that photographs submitted will be of interest to readers, an administrator will be able to accept or reject any submissions and the same for comments and ratings. Anyone contributing or commenting can choose whether or not they want to receive emails about the progress of their contributions.

It's not only rare or unusual pictures that will add to readers' enjoyment of the site - photos showing typical or atypical animal behavior, photos that intrigue and beg for explanation, or possibly are the result of special photographic techniques, are all images I believe will be appreciated and enjoyed by readers.

The best part is that the whole process will be dead easy for contributors, and also straightforward to administer - which simply has not been possible in the past. I honestly believe this is the most exciting development since this site was launched nearly five years ago but, as mentioned, the ultimate success or failure depends entirely on you, the readers.

So I think it's only fair to get your opinions and input now, before decisions are made, and that's why I'm asking you please to take a minure to complete the short questionnaire below. Your answers will influence how the Guest Gallery is set up.
