This Hooded Vulture perched on a tree stump in the Kruger Park looked like it wanted to have its photo taken. Vultures are not the most attractive of birds, so maybe it thought this was a good opportunity to show off its distinguishing features: pink-skinned face, slender beak, and white, curly down - not unlike a barrister's wig - covering the back of the head and neck. While we watched it struck a number of different poses, so there are alternative photos available.
