Camera Equipment: The photograph was taken with a Canon EOS Elan film camera and Canon EF 80-200mm F/2.8L lens, with a touch of fill-in flash. The camera-mounted flash has caused the large highlight in the lion's right eye. To avoid this effect, it's best to position the flash to the side of the camera if possible.

Location: The Kruger National Park covers nearly 2 million hectares and is South Africa's flagship wildlife reserve.
