Camera: Canon EOS 300D (Canon Digital Rebel); Lens: Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS USM; Focal Length: 400mm; Aperture: f/7.1; Shutter Speed: 1/400; ISO: 200

Location: Tala Private Game Reserve is a small nature reserve near the city of Durban on South Africa's east coast. The mix of acacia thornveld and open grassland is host to a diversity of wildlife and provides excellent opportunities for photographing giraffe, rhino, zebra, wildebeest and a variety of antelope.

Tala is unique in that it is surrounded by agricultural land and other semi-urban development, yet much of this is hidden from view once you are in the reserve. The animals have grown accustomed to vehicles which makes it relatively easy for those on safari to view and photograph the resident wildlife.
