Early morning in the Kruger Park, at the crossing to a small river, we stumbled on this fascinating array of birds. The river had stopped running, leaving only a shallow pool in which small fish were trapped, providing a ready source of food for the storks, spoonbills, herons, egrets, and other wading birds that soon gathered.
