The stock pictures on this page won't cost you a thing. They can be downloaded and used, ideally for web sites, digital presentations, and as reference for art, under a royalty-free license.The pictures are approximately 800 pixels on the longest side. I am offering them at no charge because of the many requests I get from people needing stock images as inspiration for art work, for web sites, for college projects, and for slide shows.
The photos are not, however, available at larger size, so please don't request hi-res versions for using in your book or magazine! If you do need larger pictures or a bigger variety, our new Virtual CDs, each containing 50 images, are available as immediate downloads.
To download any of the pictures below, click on the thumbnail to open the full-size image, then right-click to save to a folder of your choice. By downloading any images, you acknowledge that you've read and understand the Terms of Use set out below.

About Royalty-Free Images
Please understand that photographs are intellectual property and as such the ownership
of the picture remains with the photographer. What is being granted is a licence to use the picture.
Many stock photographs are sold for a specific purpose, for example reproduction in a particular issue of a magazine. This is known as a Traditional or Rights-Managed licence and the image cannot be used for any other purpose.
A royalty-free licence on the other hand entitles the buyer to use the stock picture an unlimited number of times in (nearly) unlimited ways.
Note however that restrictions vary from license to license and some will not allow use of the pictures for printing on mugs or T-shirts, or for screensavers and creation of your own art ("derivative use"). So always check the license or terms of use carefully before you rush in and sign up with a subscription-based stock photo site or buy pictures for a dollar each from some of the budget sites.
Bottom line with the pictures on this page - you can download them at no cost, with a royalty free license, but the copyright remains with the photographer and ownership does not pass to you. So please don't try to sell the pictures or distribute them in any way!
